Functions of the Aging Services Department
Seward County Aging Services Mission:
To provide social, educational and recreational opportunities to enhance the lives of seniors.
The Seward County Aging Services Program functions as an information and assistance center for seniors and their caregivers. This assistance includes financial counseling for Medicare Part D, caregiver education events, health screenings, health education, home delivered meal development and other gap filling services as identified.
Seward County Aging Services is a department within the County organization and also is affiliated with our regional Area Agency on Aging- Aging Partners located in Lincoln.
We would be happy to conduct presentations about our services to any group or organization within Seward County. Seward County Aging Services is jointly sponsored by County, State and Federal Funds made available through the Seward County Aging Board and Aging Partners. Contributions for services and donations also help to support the County Program.
The Seward County Aging Services staff is a certified counselor through the Senior Health Insurance and Information Program (SHIIP). This is a division of the State Department of Insurance. They are able to assist beneficiaries with a variety of Medicare related questions and issues.
